Larry is Beach Street’s Development Director and has a wealth of experience including surf destinations. Prior to joining Beach Street Larry worked with Beach Street founding partner John Luff on the Wai Kai development on Oahu. Larry was the Director of Retail and Resort Development for Haseko the owners of the Wai Kai project an exciting waterfront recreation and entertainment destination that opened in 2023 at Hoakalei Resort. Wai Kai’s  attractions include the The LineUp at Wai Kai featuring Hawaii’s first deep-water standing surf wave along with stand-up paddling kayaking and other water activities on the adjacent 52-acre recreational lagoon. Also within The LineUp is the LookOut Food & Drinks offering a front-row view of the surf action the boardwalk Foam Coffee & Bar overlooking Hoakalei’s Wai Kai Lagoon a private Nalo Kai Club and Sessions Lifestyle & Apparel retail shop geared to the waterman lifestyle.

Prior to working with Haseko Larry was the Senior Development Director for DeBartolo Development. While with DeBartolo Larry developed Ka Makana Ali’i a regional shopping mall in West Oahu that includes more than 600000 square feet of retail and a 150 room Hampton Inn and Suites.  Direct responsibilities included development proforma budgeting and analysis hiring and management of design consultants design development value engineering on-site entitlements off-site entitlements including three intersections negotiation of construction contracts construction management for shell and tenant improvements and all tenant coordination from delivery through project opening.  The project included over 100 local and national tenants including Macy’s H&M Consolidated Theatres Cheesecake Factory Hollister American Eagle Victoria’s Secret Bath & Body Works California Pizza Kitchen Sketchers Rip Curl Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Foot Locker Old Navy Sephora 24 hour fitness and many others.
