Alex Bergman brings 25 years of experience to Beach Street from diverse roles spanning; principal investing, capital raising, startup company leadership, and as a U.S. Coast Guard (“USCG”) officer. After earning a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, he served in offshore engineering, boarding officer, and environmental protection & remediation positions as an active-duty officer in the USCG. Mr. Bergman then left the service to pursue his MBA at Stanford University and began a career in finance. During the last decade+ in the Private Equity industry, he rose to the Managing Director / Investment Committee level and twice led portfolio companies, including his most recent role as Chairman & CEO of an energy services technology company.
